In my early days of business my ideas of cleaning ducts and canopies was limited to just hotels, restaurant and cafes until this very large contacted me regarding keeping the cleaning of their system in compliance. This Brisbane venue has been going for many years, yet they were unaware of their obligation of keeping their internal duct and exhaust system clean and fire safe. it goes back to the old saying of out of sight ourt of mind.
So once every six months arrange to meet there of a sunday morning. Each Sunday being a maintenance day so there is not food production happening which is a good day for kitchen exhaust cleaning.
For four hours we climb insidethis very large duct and clean it from the bottom to the top. A job not for the faint hearted. The quantity of residual grease there is huge due to the large volume of food that is produced their.
Do not doubt for any minute that a a kitchen ducting and exhaust system that is not cleaned regularly is not a fire hazard.
Many new restaurant customers tell me that they are currently happy with the present work that they are receiving until I take a look inside and show them the areas that they don’t see. Sadly many contractors only clean the areas that you can see and leave the rest. what they leave is great amount of residual grease that once accumulated amounts to a fire hazard.
